The San Pedro Classic Fly Fishing Tournament is a three-day tournament with a community focus and is open to all participants. Located in San Pedro, Belize.

The fishing boundaries are Ambergris Caye and the surrounding Cayes — all Belizean waters. The three-day, photo submission format will make it possible for fishermen in this entire range to participate.

The San Pedro Classic Fly Fishing Tournament is not only a thrilling event for anglers but also a great way to promote the sport of fly fishing and raise awareness about the importance of conservation and sustainable fishing practices. It brings together people who share a love for fly fishing and the outdoors, creating a sense of camaraderie and community.

The San Pedro Classic Fly Fishing Tournament culminates in an Awards Banquet with a can’t-miss Raffle made possible by our generous sponsors.

Finally, we are a not-for-profit and all proceeds from the San Pedro Classic Fly Fishing Tournament will be split between the Bonfish and Tarpon Trust and Omar Arceo's Youth Fly Fishing Program.

Lori-Ann Murphy

Reel Belize, San Pedro

In 1992, Lori-Ann Murphy co-founded Reel Women Fly-Fishing Adventures.

By 1998, Lori-Ann started the first Women’s Fly-fishing Guide School as she recognized other women wanting to enter the industry professionally.

In 2009, Lori-Ann moved to San Pedro Belize and since then has worked as a Saltwater guide, fly-fishing director for a local lodge and now owns Reel Belize and runs Reel Women Fly-Fishing Adventure trips on the waters surrounding Ambergris Caye.

Marisela Marin

Born and raised in the beautiful country of Belize, Marisela has spent over two decades as the proud owner of GoFish Belize. With a passion for both her homeland and the stunning marine life it boasts, she’s dedicated her career to providing unforgettable fishing experiences for visitors from around the globe. Marisela remains steadfast in her commitment to enriching her community through her tireless efforts and endeavors.

Tina's love affair with Belize spans over two decades, drawn to its shores by a passion for fishing that has only deepened with time. From her early days spin fishing to mastering the art of fly fishing, Belize has been her sanctuary, her happy place. Each visit is a journey of exploration, a chance to immerse herself in the vibrant marine life and serene beauty that this paradise offers. With every cast of her line, Tina's connection to Belize grows stronger, making each trip a cherished memory to treasure.

The San Pedro Classic Fly-Fishing Tournament is brought to you by Lori-Ann Murphy from Reel Belize, Tina Winkler, a dedicated angler with over 22 years of experience fishing in Belize, and Marisela Marin from GoFish Belize.

Frustrated with the wait for a fly-fishing tournament, we took matters into our own hands and founded this event. It’s a registered as a non-profit, and now we’re gearing up to spread the word.
