Yes, the San Pedro Classic is a not-for-profit tournament. All proceeds are split between two important causes: the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and Omar Arceo’s Youth Fly Fishing Program.

The tournament focuses on Belize’s world-famous flats species: bonefish, permit, and tarpon. All fish must be released after being photographed or video-recorded as part of the submission process.
What is the tournament format?
It’s a three-day tournament with a flexible photo and video submission format, allowing anglers to fish across the designated boundary waters. The event culminates in an awards banquet and raffle night on the final evening.
Where are the fishing boundaries?
Participants can fish within all Belizean waters surrounding Ambergris Caye and the nearby cayes. This includes a wide area of flats, lagoons, and coastal waters ideal for fly fishing.
Do I need to bring my own guide?
Yes, anglers are responsible for booking their own guide through a local outfitter. Guides are hired separately and should be arranged in advance to ensure availability.

How do I submit my catches?
Anglers will be provided with instructions, a unique tournament code and ruler for photo/video submissions. All entries must clearly show the fish, measuring device, and identification marker.
